In my early 20s I started to see some of my friends and acquaintances falling in love. I got a little older and they’re getting married and having kids. Then I got just a little older and some of them are getting divorced. It’s a bizarre phenomenon to me witnessing love turn to hate. That so many people rush into “growing up” but can’t take it and turn to giving up. Empty is about coming to terms with being alone. Maybe I can learn from others' mistakes. Maybe I don’t need to find love in order to find peace and happiness. Maybe I’m okay with myself. Maybe an empty glass is just the first step to having a full one.
